Sarasota .NET Developers Group

The Sarasota .NET Developers group focuses on building solutions using Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL Server, Office, and other related tools. This is a technically oriented group where our monthly 1.5 - 2 hour presentations concentrate on code development and techniques.

Meetings are generally held on a Mon/Tue/Wed, in the middle of the month (speaker's choice). Our usual location: Sarasota Community Foundation, located at 2635 Fruitville Rd., Sarasota, FL 34237 (just west of Tuttle on the north side of Fruitville).

March 2010 Meeting

Functional Programming with F# - by Eugene Chuvyrov

The meeting date is Tuesday, Mar 9, 2010 at 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Location: Sarasota Community Foundation, at 2635 Fruitville Rd., Sarasota, FL 34237 (just west of Tuttle on the north side of Fruitville).

Eugene will give us a practical introduction to F#, and will delve into some interesting applications for the language. Eugene is a leader of the Jacksonville .NET user group.

There is hope that there will be pizza at the meeting! :)

  • Facebook Development in Azure - Wed, Mar 31, 2010 at 6:30pm at the Microsoft office in Tampa. Jim Zimmerman will talk about doing Facebook application developing in .NET on the Azure platform. Very cool. More info here.
  • Barcamp Sarasota Event - Sat/Sun Apr 17 & 18, 2010 at the new Sarasota Polytechnical High School. Join BarCamp Sarasota, learn more about the BarCamp Sarasota conference event, and find the LinkedIn group. Florida CodeCamps in 2010:

The 2010 Florida CodeCamp season is about to start! If you haven't attended in the past, a CodeCamp is a free, all-day Saturday developer event put on by regional developers, for developers. If you've been to CodeCamp in the past, then you know you don't want to miss the 2010 season.

  • South FL - Sat, Feb 27, 2010. This is usually the biggest event in the state. Speaker and attendee registration are open! 
  • Orlando - Sat, March 27, 2010. Speaker and attendee registration is open. Don't miss it!
  • Jacksonville - Sat, Aug 28, 2010.  It's a long drive north!
  • SWFL - Sat, Dep 25, 2010. North of Naples, an easy drive on Saturday.
  • Tallahassee - Sat, Oct 23, 2010. 
  • Tampa - Sat, Nov 20, 2010 (tentative).
